Notice to artists and arts organizations:
School Touring Program application deadline extended to June 30, 2010
The Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council (NLAC) is accepting applications for the School Touring Program (STP).
Funded by the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education’s Cultural Connections Strategy and the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council, the School Touring Program supports tours of high quality artistic productions and presentations by professional Newfoundland and Labrador artists to schools in the province. Through the STP, students will have direct access to artistic experiences that explore and celebrate our culture.
The STP is open to all artistic disciplines served by the NLAC (dance, film, multidiscipline, music, theatre, visual arts, writing). Tours must take place between September 15, 2010 and June 24, 2011. All tours must include workshops or enrichment activities that allow students to explore an artistic form. $110,000 is available to be awarded for school tours in the 2010-11 school year. Artists and arts organizations can apply for up to $20,000 for a school tour.
Further program information and an application form are available on the NLAC website at http://www.nlac.nf.ca/grants/STP_app.pdf. This writable PDF document can be completed online, but must be printed and submitted as a hard copy by mail or fax. It cannot be saved or submitted electronically.
For this year only, the application deadline will be June 30, 2010 (extended from June 15, 2010).
